Primary Wire

Tinned copper stranding (up to 12% more tinned copper conductors than SAE wire) for maximum protection against corrosion and electrolysis.  Ultra flexible (Type 3/Class K) stranding resists fatigue due to vibration and flexing.  Premium vinyl insulation that resists salt water, battery acid, oil, gasoline and ultra-violet radiation, rated at 600 volts and 105° C. Heavy duty insulation, resistant to heat and abrasion. Exceeds all UL 1426, US Coast Guard Charterboat (CFR Title 46) and ABYC standards.  ANCOR supplies a full line of Marine Grade primary (single conductor) wire in sizes from 18 AWG to 10 AWG, all in ABYC recommended colors.

ABYC Recommends
“Conductors shall be at least 16 AWG. Exception: 18 AWG conductors may be used if included with other conductors in a sheath and do not extend more than 30 inches outside the sheath.”
