Quattro Winches

Quattro is a breakthrough in winch design patented by Harken. The original Quattro was designed for the Melges 30 which required extremely fast winches to handle the large asymmetrical spinnaker, but also need power to trim the genoa upwind. the usual answer would have been two sets of winches.

Self-tailing Quattro winches were developed for larger offshore boats that trim the spinnaker on the cabin house. They need speed for the spinnaker, but power and self-tailing ability for the guy and halyards. The B45STQ features PEEK bearings and aluminum castle.
