Interlux Interior Finish 750

Interlux Yacht Paint
Interior Finish 750

Interior Finish 750 is both high in gloss and opacity and is specially formulated for use throughout the interiors of all types of construction. This tough and durable finish offers excellent chemical resistance and is easy to clean. When used in combination with Interior Primer 860 it holds a Surface Spread of Flame Certificate. Reduced surface preparation requirements and fast walk on time speeds the application process and lowers the impact of painting on the other trades

Hard Dry [ISO] 24hrs 8hrs 4hrs
Touch Dry [ISO] 8hrs 4hrs 2hrs
Dry To Walk On 48hrs 24hrs 16hrs
Pot Life 8hrs 4hrs 3hrs

Note:Pot life reduces as temperature and mix volume increases. Pot life refers to the Working Pot Life. It is recommended not to prepare a larger volume than required for immediate use. Drying times quoted in this datasheet were measured without thinners. Drying time will vary according to the application method, and the quantity and type of thinner used. Walk-on time will vary according to the film thickness applied.

Note:All overcoating times are approximate and refer to the overcoating time when fully cured. When being overcoated, the surface must be dry, clean, grease- and dust-free.

APPLICATION AND USE
Preparation STEEL: Degrease the surface with Thinner 910. Gritblast to SSPC-SP10/NACE 2 (Sa 2) - near white metal surface. If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 24-36 grit abrasive discs to a uniform, clean, bright metal surface with 2-3 mils (50-75 microns) anchor pattern to an SSPC-SP-3 / St3 standard. Use angle grinder on small areas. Prime with Interior Primer 860.
STEEL with a Shop Primer: Degrease the surface with Thinner 910. Clean the surface with contaminant-free rags and ensure rust, dust, oil, grease and dirt is removed. Note: shop primer should have been applied on to a substrate where standard profile requirements have been achieved. Prime with Interior Primer 860.
ALUMINUM: For dry areas: degrease the surface with Thinner 910. For wet areas: degrease the surface with Thinner 910 and scrub well using a maroon, 3M Scotch-Brite pad (7447). Prime with Interior Primer 860.
STAINLESS STEEL: Degrease the surface with Thinner 910. Light gritblast to produce a profile of 2 mils (50 microns). Prime with Interior Primer 860.
LAMINATE: Closed and sound condition laminate only. Note: fibers are impregnated with resin, no fibers exposed. Degrease the surface with Thinner 910. Scrub well using a maroon, 3M Scotch-Brite pad (7447). Prime with Interior Primer 860.
GELCOAT: Prime with Interior Primer 860. Degrease surface with Fiberglass Solvent Wash 202 using the two cloth method. Sand with 80 grade (grit) paper. Ensure sanding debris is removed by wiping down with 202 Fiberglass Solvent Wash prior to proceeding. Prime with Interior Primer 860.
POWDER COATED SURFACES: Degrease the surface with Thinner 910. Scrub well using a maroon, 3M Scotch-Brite pad (7447). Prime with Interior Primer 860.

Hints Mixing Stir or shake individual components thoroughly. Add curing agent to the base and mix well. Ensure the correct volume mix ratio is used. Add thinner as necessary.
Thinner Thinner 910, Thinner 920.
Ventilation and Humidity Control To achieve sufficient curing, the maximum relative air humidity should not exceed 80%. During application and drying in a confined spaces, continuous ventilation is required to extract solvent vapors for health and safety reasons and to assist the drying process.
Conventional Spray Pressure Pot: Recommended flow rate 180-200cc (6.09-6.76floz) per minute. Gravity/suction feed: Pressure: 3-4 bar/45-60 psi Tip Size: 1.1-1.5 mm/0.043-0.059" Thin 20-30% using Thinner 910. Reduce viscosity to 20-22s on Zahn #2. Advised dry film thickness: 1.6 mils (WFT= 3.0 mils). Maximum dry film thickness: 2.4 mils (WFT= 5.0 mils).
Brush Thin 0-5% using Thinner 920. Advised dry film thickness: 1 mil (WFT=2 mils). Maximum dry film thickness: 1.4 mils (WFT=3.0 mils).
Roller Thin 0-5% using Thinner 920. Advised dry film thickness: 1 mil (WFT=2 mils). Maximum dry film thickness: 1.4 mils (WFT=3.0 mils). Polyurethane-based paints cause swelling to foam plastic paint rollers, which makes regular replacement (about every half an hour) of the roller necessary.

Some Important Points Ambient temperature should be minimum 10C/50F and maximum 35C/95F. Substrate temperature should be minimum 10C/50F and maximum 35C/95F. Product temperature should be minimum 10C/50F and maximum 35C/95F. Substrate temperature should be 3C/5F above dew point to prevent condensation. It is recommended not to apply the product under adverse weather conditions. Coverage depends on several factors, including shape of the yacht, surface roughness, method of application being used and conditions of application. Not suitable for permanently immersed surfaces. Do not apply over conventional (one-pack) coatings.

Compatibility/Substrates Interior Finish 750 can be applied to Interior Primer 860.
