Micron 66

Traditional anti-fouling paints cannot match the lifetime of an SPC antifouling because the amount of biocide released falls during their life until there is not enough biocide released to deter fouling. What is really clever about this new technology is that the self - polishing copolymer, on which SPC anti-fouling paints are based, reacts with salt water in a controlled way, sustaining the release of biocides throughout the lifetime of the antifouling without decline. This means the boat will be protected from fouling build - up even when stationary for prolonged periods.

Not only is Micron 66 a true self polishing copolymer antifouling but also it offers the best protection against all types of fouling from slime and algae, to weed and shell fouling. This is because it contains advanced biocides that are far superior to those used in TBT antifoulings. This technology is called Biolux SPC.

Do not use in fresh water.

APPLICATION AND USE
Preparation PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES:
In Good Condition:
TBT Copolymers: Wet sand suface with 80 grade (grit) paper to a clean firmly attached surface. Clean with Special Thinner 216. Prime with Primocon.
Non-TBT Copolymers & Hard Antifoulings: Wet sand suface with 80 grade (grit) paper to a clean firmly attached surface. Clean with Special Thinner 216.
In Poor Condition: Use Interstrip to remove all traces of antifouling. Sand and wipe clean with Fibreglass Solvent Wash 202.
BARE FIBERGLASS - (POLYESTER OR VINYLESTER): Clean and degrease with Fibreglass Solvent Wash 202 or use Fibreglass Surface Prep.
No Sand System -: Repair defects with Watertite, then sand and wipe clean. Apply one thin, continuous coat of Interlux Fiberglass No-Sand Primer. See primer datasheets for details on substrate preparation.
Sanding System -: Sand with 80 grade (grit) paper. Wipe with Fiberglass Solvent Wash 202. Repair defects with Watertite, then sand and wipe clean.
BARE WOOD: Sand with 80 grade (grit) paper. Clean with Special Thinner 216. Apply first coat reduced 10% with Special Thinner 216 or Brush-Ease 433. Fill seams, if necessary, with Seam Compound Brown 30. Repair defects with Watertite, then sand and wipe clean. Apply 2 additional coats.
STEEL/ALUMINIUM: Contact the Interlux Technical Service Department at 1-800-468-7589 for full information on how to properly prime underwater metals.

Method At least 2 coats should be applied. Apply an extra stripe coat in areas of high wear such as chines, rudders, sterngear and any leading edges.

Some Important Points Product temperature should be minimum 5C/40F and maximum 35C/95F. Ambient temperature should be minimum 5C/40F and maximum 35C/95F. Substrate temperature should be minimum 5C/40F and maximum 35C/95F.

Compatibility/Substrates Surface must be dry and clean, and free from grease, detaching paint etc. Micron 66 can be applied to most popular antifouling paints as long as the old coating has been aged, is tightly adhered and is in sound condition. Do not apply Micron 66 over aluminum. Use Primocon primer as a conversion coat prior to application over tin-based copolymer antifouling paints.

Number of Coats 2-3 minimum Bare Wood: 3 coats (first thinned)
