Folding Wheels
Lewmar has introduced an off
the shelf version of its innovative custom Folding Wheel at a price
that will appeal to a wide market, and features a completely new and
unique fast action folding system. Conventional wheels acts as a barrier
across most cockpits, effectively reducing space and movement. The Lewmar
Folding Wheel has resolved this problem by introducing a concept in space
saving.
Its versatility makes it ideal
for a wide range of yachts including those with twin wheeled layout. When
the wheel not in use it can be folded to give better visibility to
instruments and improved access whilst under way.
The Lewmar Folding Wheel has a
unique hinging system, which allows fast action handgrip release to fold
and unfold the wheel. The two-turn buttress-threaded split-spoke design is
operated by the simple twist of the composite hand grip. The system is
patent pending.
