Damping is essential for smooth, readable data but can be a handicap when conditions are changing fast (tacking, rounding a mark, surfing etc) as the data suffers from damping 'lag'

Dynamic Damping adjusts to deliver more accurate, real time data. eg: when on a beat, it is essential that the wind angle information is accurate but steady, however, when tacking, data needs to be more real time.
