Determine the Correct Battcar System

1) Chose the correct system based on sail area. The Data section of this site should help you determine the area of your mainsail

2) Order the correct number & configuration of cars for your boat. Each system requires a headboard assembly, the appropriate number of batten ends and cars, and short luff cars for between the battens. On most boats under 40' one short car between battens will suffice. On larger boats two short luff cars could be required. Consult your sailmaker.

3) Determine the correct number of track lengths: You can usually determine how much track you will need to order based on your boat's P dimension. For common production boats, this can be found in our Rig Dimension Database. If your boat is not listed in our database, or if your boat is close to the limit for a given amount of track, you should physically measure the boat.

4) Determine the correct mounting slugs for the mast. Slug templates are available on request, or consult Performance Yacht Systems). You will need a mounting slug kit for each length of track required for your system

5) Order an end stop kit.
