Schaefer Systems utilize your existing headstay and turnbuckle for reduced cost, full turnbuckle adjustability and optimum performance.  A heavy-duty base toggle/link absorbs side loads that might otherwise cause turnbuckle fatigue.  Schaefer's base toggle/link allows full adjustment without compromise.

Drum Design: Powerful, Open, Metal

Schaefer's powerful, large-diameter drum provides you with the mechanical advantage you need for high sailing loads.  The attractive stainless cage is open to allow possible overrides in the furling line to be identified and unwound quickly and easily.

Sta-Lok Eye provided makes shortening your headstay a snap, and there are no special tools required.

Aluminum top cap prevents halyards from chafing.

Torlon bearings in open races are easily flushed with fresh water "Angular contact" bearing races distribute load to all the bearings

Schaefer's round extrusions provide a smooth roll without oscillations common to elliptical foils.  The thick-wall design also provides torsional rigidity for side loading, and resists spinnaker pole or yard damage better than thin wall designs.

Wire bearing liners insulate connecting joints from your headstay for low friction, and maximum corrosion protection.  These tough liners are made of Nylatron GS for long term durability and wear resistance.
