While most mainsail working loads are predictable, it is easy to overlook the shock loads that may be experienced by the traveler system.  Jibing, for example, can produce loads shock loads far higher than normal sailing loads.

Schaefer bearings are enclosed in captive wheels that distribute loads to a rolling surface for maximum resistance to friction.   Schaefer cars can also be easily removed from the track.
