The Signet Marine SL172 Depthsounder is intended for use on sailboats or powerboats. The SL172 Depthsounder features advanced microprocessor logic with an integral firmware program. This design combines low power drain with precise accuracy and high reliability. Under normal conditions the SL172 Depthsounder is sensitive to bottom contour variations as small as one-tenth of a foot.

The SL172 Depthsounder consists of two major components: The instrument display, which contains the electronics, alarm, and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), and the transducer. The transducer is available in flush, mushroom, extractable, or brass configurations.
