The Quest GX1255S is the perfect choice for boaters who may not need a second station but require a full function VHF with RTCM SC-101 Digital Selective Calling. Connect a GPS, and the QUEST allows transmission of DSC Distress calls with position or repeats your vessels speed, course or latitude/longitude on the display. Additional features include user-selectable programmable scan, dual watch, Ch16 priority scan, user changeable channel names, NOAA weather with alert and a dedicated CH16/9 key. The microphone also has a dedicated 16/9 key, which allows direct access to these channels, channel selection keys and ClearVoice noise reduction technology.

DIGITAL SELECTIVE CALLING

The QUEST meets the requirements for RTCM SC-101 Digital Selective Calling. The DSC DISTRESS function when activated transmits a digital MAYDAY including vessel identification, Latitude / Longitude and time (with GPS connected), to facilitate prompt response. Additional calls that can be made are Individual, Urgency and Safety and Position Request (No NMEA output).

GPS REPEATABILITY

When connected to a GPS receiver the QUEST repeats Latitude and Longitude along with date and time on the radio display. This is a handy way of knowing you position when the radio and GPS are at different locations.

OVERSIZED CHANNEL NUMBERS

Visibility is enhanced with tall and wide channel numbers and obvious information flags that are easy to identify. The LCD and keypad feature 3-step backlighting and 7 steps of LCD contrast adjustment.

CLEAR VOICE NOISE REDUCTION TECHNOLOGY

The QUEST features Clear Voice Noise Reduction Technology eliminating unwanted background noises like engines and wind during transmission. This assures transmissions are crystal clear along with dedicated 16/9 key and channel selection.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

The QUEST also features a spring loaded DSC Distress cover, channel naming capability, dual watch, user selectable Scan and Priority Scan, NOAA weather channels with alert, and improved speaker audio Dual Watch, user selectable Scan/Priority scan and NOAA Weather channels with alert.

3-YEAR WATERPROOF WARRANTY

If the QUEST fails for any reason (including water damage) during normal use for the first 3 years of ownership, STANDARD HORIZON will repair or replace it free, without hassles or charges. If it fails for anytime thereafter in normal use, for as long as the original purchaser owns the radio, STANDARD HORIZON's Lifetime Flat Rate and Customer Loyalty Service Programs will cover it.
