The Tylaska mainsail halyard (headboard) shackles have the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any existing halyard shackles. They are made of high strength, missile grade aluminum with a unique locking tab to prevent the loss of the stainless cross-pin while the shackle is open. The all-metal thimble allows for use as a 2-1 purchase without the wear or melting that occurs with plastic molded thimbles. The clevis slot size is made to fit standard sail headboards without adding unnecessary weight.

Three sizes of halyard shackles are produced with break strengths of 5,000, 8,000, and 12,000 pounds.
