If you have a roller furling system on your boat, chances are that the sail attaches to the system by means of a small rope that slides into the groove in the system's aluminum foils. This rope, that is installed on the luff of the sail, is called a luff tape. The chart below shows the luff tape size recommended by the manufacturers of some popular roller furling systems. If your system is not listed here, or you do not know who manufactured your system, let us know. We will send you luff tape samples free of charge with your confirmed order.
Please note that some old roller furlers require a large 1x19 wire in the luff. PC sails are not available with this wire installed for shipping reasons. Contact your local sailmaker to inquire about installing a wire if you would like to use a PC sail on an old roller furler of this type. |
